Bad Play On Words Day

Have you ever watched a conversation unfold that made you cringe? One where someone makes a bad play on words, unintentionally, but doesn’t realize their mistake? The word “awkward” doesn’t suffice. It’s more of a cringe, deep inside that you can’t describe.

Recently, a family member told us how they had mistakenly interpreted “LOL”, the famous Laugh Out Loud acronym, for Lots of Love. We had a good laugh over her mistake until she told us she had sent a text to her friend who had recently lost her husband. In what was meant to be an encouraging note, she said: “Always remember the good times you two had. Thinking of you. LOL”

(Insert indescribable “cringe” feeling here)

If you’re looking for a positive play on words, look no further. Keep it Safe by Jess Wygle does not steer you wrong with this well written thriller.

A freak accident leaves Parker Erickson confused and frightened. A strange gift sealed on a promise turns into more of an omen. Parker must find a way to get out alive and keep it safe.
